Seth Thomas, DVM

Dr. Thomas joined the Horton-Discovery team and brought with him a wealth of international experience in emergency medicine. His career stand out for its unique path and deep-rooted passion for animal care. 

Growing up on the Canadian prairies, Dr. Thomas developed a profound love for all animals. From a young age, he aspired to become a veterinarian, set sights on a career dedicated to animal health and welfare. 

Dr. Thomas's professional journey diverged from the the traditional route. Instead of pursuing a bachelor's degree, he became a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT). His time working in the intensive care unit at a large referral hospital ignited his passion for emergency and critical care, which would shape the trajectory of his career. 

While attending veterinary school in Grenada, Dr. Thomas joined the emergency medicine club, further nurturing his interest in the field. After three years in the Caribbean, he completed his fourth year at the Mizzou Veterinary Health Center. His clinical rotations and travels across North America exposed him to a variety of veterinary practicies, broadening his experience and expertise. 

Dr. Thomas found a sense of belonging in Missouri, where he enjoys an active lifestyle with his girlfriend and their four Caribbean rescue dogs. Outside of work, he can often be found relaxing in his hammock or driving his late grandfather's classic Mustang, savoring the moments away from his demanding profession.
