Steven Jacobek, DVM

Dr. Steve Jacobek is originally from the Chicago area and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a B.S. in Psychology. 

After graduation he moved to Denver, CO where he met his future wife Jeanne. He decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine and took the prerequisite coursework at the University of Colorado-Denver. 

In 2005 he graduated from the Washington State University of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA. 

He spent several years working at a small animal hospital in Las Vegas,NV before moving to his wife's hometown of Jefferson City, MO. 

He enjoys caring for all the people and pets in the Jefferson City/Columbia area. He predominantly sees "General Practice" appointments and enjoys providing care to new puppies and kittens as well as managing illnesses and conditions in adult and geriatric pets. He enjoys general surgery, ophthalmology, and pain management. 

He has a soft spot for the "smoosh faced" Brachycephalic breeds. In addition to his wife and two sons, he shares his home with Della, a Pug, and Nina Collada, a French Bulldog. In his spare time he likes spending time with his family hiking, biking, travelling and getting beat at tennis and pickleball.
